expresso martini

‘Even better than Starbucks..!’
Jess Gandy
A new and welcome addition to the Hale’s Hidden Hut cocktail menu, the Expresso Martini is proving to be a real success with the punters (or family should I say.)
The good news is, it’s really easy to make, so you get guzzling in no time! you’ll need:
- Cocktail shaker, some crushed ice and good wrist action
- Absolute Vodka (2 parts)
- Coffee liqueur – Kahlua works well (2 parts).
- Sugar syrup (1 part)
- short expresso coffee, freshly made (one part)
- Coffee beans to garnish
Throw in a good measure of ice into the shaker and then add the Vodka, Coffee liquer, sugar Syrup and expresso coffee. Shake really well, then pour out into the cocktail glass. Add 3 coffee beans to garnish on top! Enjoy!
pornstar martini

‘Blooming marvellous, let’s have another’
Tash Gandy
One of the first cocktails on the HHH’s menu, the Pornstar Martini is a real family favourite.
There’s a bit more giggery pokery attached to making one of these bad boys, but it’s worth the effort! So to here we go:
- Cocktail shaker with crushed ice in
- Absolute Vanilla Vodka (or Smirnoff?)
- Passoa (Passion fruit liqueur)
- Passion Fruit juice
- Sugar Syrup
- Prosecco
- Passion Fruits, cut in half
Lob the ice into the shaker, along with the vodka, Passoa, Passion fruit juice and sugar syrup. Shake like a mad person… Pour out slowly nto glasses, and add half a passion fruit to garnish. Pour out a small Prosecco into a shot glass, to be drunk alongside your cocktail. You’re good to go!
beer

‘Beer makes the world go round’
Mark Gandy
No one loves a beer more than I do at Hale’s Hidden Hut.. We’ve done a survey and they just don’t.
We source the best beer in the world, from places as far and wide as Tesco’s, Booths, Sainsburys and Majestic. But if we really want a proper nugget, then in all seriousness, we would go to Jason at Bier Cell just behind Altrincham Market. Jason has forgotten more about beer than I will ever know. He’s also operating a home delivery service during the lockdown and is a top bloke.
Baby Guinness

”The perfect alternative to a large guinness..”
Mark Gandy
Let’s face it, we all love a Guinness or two at the weekend – some of us maybe a bit too much.. (come on, you know who you are).. So what better way to slow the bus down, than by going for a smaller alternative.. the delicious ‘Baby Guinness’.
This is one of my daughter’s favourites and boy are we pleased she shared it with us! Jess discovered this on a night out at the Railway in Hale, where you can get one for £4 and it’s a winner! So how do you make it?
- Grab a shot glass
- fill it three quarters full of Tia Maria.
- Grab a tea spoon, turn it upside down and gently pour Baileys over the spoon into the glass to form a small Guinness ‘head’.
- Drink in one if you’re thirsty, or savour with some peanuts for a longer drink!
